SECURITY REPORT – 1ST QUARTER 2008
In the Spring 2008 Newsletter we reviewed the need to be diligent in keeping garages closed, doors locked and automobiles secure.
This turned out to be more timely than we realized at the time. Recently, there have been a large number of burglaries in our area. These cases and possible suspects are being investigated.
Sergeant Lekas asked that area residents be especially vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
People walking or running in the neighborhood are asked to take note of any suspicious people or actions and inform the Constables.
There are also some people who look for opportunities for easy thefts, such as open garage doors.
A number of this type of theft has occurred recently.
I would like to repeat the main suggestions from the Newsletter:
* If you have an alarm system, always activate it when you leave your home.
* Be sure that your garage door is closed.
* Remember to lock doors, both house and cars – home or way.
* Do not leave valuables in you car in the street or driveway.
